Baked Soft Donuts / Donut Bakar Lembut



I have some yolks left from making macarons and I remembered this recipe which I originally saw on Kak Rima's Bisous A Toi and also on MamaFami's Spice & Splendour quite some time ago. Also, mum have just bought a new donut cutter. It is high time to try this recipe. It calls for 4 egg yolks and that is a guarantee for a soft donut I tell you. I baked these donuts though instead of frying, for healthy measure.
   
Baked Soft Donuts

Ingredients:
(A)
500g high protein flour - bread flour *I used all-purpose flour
100g sugar
11g / about 2 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
4 egg yolks
200 ml water *I used warm water because I knead by hand
(B)
100g butter / margarine
1 tsp salt

Method :
1. Stir ingredients (A) and knead until lumpy. Then add ingredients (B), continue to knead until smooth and elastic. You can also dump everything into your breadmaker and let it do all the kneading and proofing job. 
2. Rest dough for 10 minutes. Divide dough into several balls weighing 40g each. Rest for a further 20 minutes.
3. Punch a hole through the middle, then fry until cooked. Drain. Chill. Decorate as you like. 

What I did:After the first 10 minute proofing, I rolled the dough to about 1 cm thick and cut using a donut cutter. Arrange the donut rings on a greased and lined baking pan and let sit for another 30 minutes. Then, I baked them at 350F/180C for about 18 minutes until golden brown.

Bahan-bahan:
(A)
500g tepung roti *saya guna tepung gandum
100g gula
11g yis segera (1 paket yis Mauripan)
4 kuning telur
200 ml air *saya guna air suam
(B)
100g butter / marjerin
1 sudu kecil garam

Cara-cara:
1. Kacau bahan-bahan (A) dan uli sehingga menjadi doh kasar. Selepas itu, masukkan bahan (B) dan uli lagi sehingga doh lembut dan elastik. Kalau guna breadmaker pun boleh. 
2. Rehatkan doh selama 10 minit. Selepas itu, bahagikan doh kepada bebola kecil seberat 40g sebiji dan rehatkan lagi selama 20 minit.
3. Tebuk lubang pada doh tadi sebelum goreng dan goreng hingga kuning keemasan. Hias ikut kreativiti. 

Cara saya:
Selepas rehatkan doh selama 10 minit, saya canaikan doh dan terap menggunakan acuan donut. Susun donut di atas loyang yang telah digris dan dialas dengan baking paper dan rehatkan lagi selama 30 minit. Bakar dalam oven yang telah dipanaskan pada suhu 180C selama 18 minit atau sehingga kuning keemasan.
